Vintage 1956 Post Versalog 1460 Bamboo Slide Rule with leather case. Manufactured by
the Japanese company, Hemmi Keisanjaku
this ten-inch bamboo slide rule was distributed in the U.S. by Post.
Available Scales: LL0 LL/0 K DF [CF CIF CI C] D R1 R2 L ||| LL/1 LL/2 LL/3 [T-T SecT-ST Cos-S C] D LL3 LL2 LL1.
It is
coated on all sides (except the ends) with white celluloid. The rule is held together with metal posts The glass indicator has a metal frame with plastic sides. The indicator glass is cracked on one side. The leather case is badly damaged but it is cosmetic only and did not penetrate inside the leather.
The
Diwa 601 Rietz Simplex Slide Rule is a five-inch, one-sided white molded plastic slide rule with K, A, D, and L scales on the base. B, CI, and C scales are on one side of the slide, and S, S&T, and T scales are on the other side, which is marked at the left end: Diwa DENMARK. The top edge is beveled and has a scale of inches in red and a scale of centimeters in black. A glass indicator has a hairline and metal edges. A notch covered with clear plastic is on the right end of the base. The right end of the back is marked: No. 601 MADE IN DENMARK.
