Vintage A.W. Faber Castell Syst. Rietz 1/87 Slide Rule in Case, German

Up for sale is a vintage A.W. Castell Syst. Rietz 1/87 slide rule in the case.  I never learned how to use one, so I can't tell you if it "works," but I would guess so, since there are no mechanical parts!.  The metal edges on the clear plastic piece are loose and one side is coming off, so maybe it could use a touch of glue, but that may affect its sliding ability, so it goes up for sale as is.  (I am guessing that's why someone rubber banded the clear plastic piece at some point.)

My husband and I spent over 30 years collecting and selling at flea markets and antique shows and now are finding all kinds of treasures in our carriage barn full of stuff to post on eBay.
