    Description

    French Line: An original folding desk blotter from First Class cabins aboard the S.S. NORMANDIE.
    Closed, the leatherette-covered blotter measures 12" by 17" and features an embossed logo in the upper left corner with the ship and line name plus the special NORMANDIE shield in gold.
    Open, the blotter measures 17" by 25" with upper and lower sections. The upper half features a map of the North Atlantic showing CGT routes to New York, Central America, and the Pacific Coast. A nicely-detailed Jan Auvigne portrait of the NORMANDIE is along the bottom. Notice that the ship has been updated with the Tourist Class Lounge plopped onto the former First Class stern area. Yellow blotter paper fits into the lower section.
    What an elegant surface on which to write a letter!
