    Description

The company that later became Lamson & Sessions Co. was founded in Mt. Carmel, Connecticut in 1866.  It was founded by brothers Thomas and Isaac Lamson and Samuel Sessions.  In 1869, they didn't need rely on water power anymore, so they moved to Cleveland, Ohio.  In 1883, the Lamson & Sessions name was incorporated.
The Lamson & Sessions Co. was a manufacturer of nuts, bolts, cotter pins, screws, etc.  By 1930, they had 8 plants in Chicago, Ohio, and Birmingham, Alabama and even W. Germany.  The company, in 1935, did million in business for the year.  During WWII, the company made nuts and bolts, etc. for the war effort.  Over time, they became a leading manufacturer of freight cars, aircraft parts, and truck bodies.  The company closed the Birmingham plant in 1980, and moved some of the employees to Ohio.
This an old side of a wooden packing box.  I'd say it was dated around 1920-1930.  It would serve now, as an old sign with historic memories.  It measures 9" x 20" long.  It is in good looking condition.  It features 2 boards with tongue and groove attachment.  The box side is made of southern pine.
