Description
Studebaker Corporation, founded in 1852 by Clement and Henry Studebaker, began as a producer of wagons and carriages before transitioning to automobiles in the early 1900s. Known for its innovative design and engineering, Studebaker experienced post-WWII success but faced financial difficulties in the 1950s. A merger with Packard in 1954 failed to resolve these issues, leading to the end of U.S. production in 1963 and Canadian production in 1966. Studebaker remains remembered for its distinctive styling and contributions to automotive history.
