Here is a
Wonderful ANTIQUE WOODEN SIGN WITH BLACK SAND PAINT AND GOLD LETTERING "Wm. H.S. CALLAHAN. ATTORNEY AT LAW".
Sign is
20" x 10"
. Sign is probably c.1920's or possibly 1930's vintage. The sign is from the family estate of WILLIAM HENRY SHAW CALLAHAN (Providence, RI: 1890-1946). I am including with the sign, W.H.S. Callahan's 1919 Supreme Court of the United States attorney's document signed by Court Clerk James A. Maher for provenance purposes. This sign was found displayed in the garage of the Callahan family's estate. Mr. Callahan was also a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during WW1 (I have his WW1 Lieutenant's metal name sign as well which I will be listing).
Sign is in excellent condition for it's age. The black sand paint and gold lettering are in nice, unfaded-looking condition. Original dark green paint border. The two original metal eyelets for hanging.
