    Description

    Loga 6400 A% Topo Stadia/Tacheometry/Surveying Swiss Slide Rule. Hard-to-Find.
The Loga 6400 A% Tachymeter Slide Rule is hard to find.  This
specimen is in very good condition. Minor signs of use are visible on
    inspection.
Both cursors are functioning.  The cursors and the inner disc turn freely.  The front cursor moves very smoothly.  The coupled rear cursor / inner disc combination turns freely, but turns with just a little more friction in some spots than in others.  The disc is still readily  set to any reading desired.
The outer diameter is about 125 mm.
The rear cursor is coupled to the inner disc on the front.  Placing the cursor on a chosen number on the outer (unlabeled) scale on the reverse places the index on the B scale opposite the same chosen number on the A scale on the front.  (Note that the scale labels do not follow the usual conventions -- "A" and "B" correspond to what are more commonly called the "C" and "D" scales.)
There are specialized trigonometric scales (cos**2, sin x cos) used in tachymetric surveying.  The angular unit appears to be the "NATO milliradian," for which 1600 mil equal a right angle, and 6400 mil equal a full revolution.
The knob on the reverse turns smoothly.  The knob provides a convenient way to grasp the slide rule, but it is not coupled to a disc or cursor.
The case and instructions have unfortunately been lost over the years.
