Description
BERLIN'S FIRST GAS-POWERED LIVERY CAR!
PROTO-UBER 1899!!
This is a century old Berlin Street Car Co. 2 Mark banknote that was good for a ride (or rides) aboard a Berlin trolley in 1922!!
This bill was not only utilitarian (being worth money and a ride) but
collectible
- even then - due to its beautiful engraving and image of the
first gas powered car to ply the streets of Berlin carrying paying passengers
!
! Looks a bit like one of the early "open air" autos by Daimler who invented the car 10 years earlier.
So this rare antique delight was
already
nostalgic for an earlier time.
The ornate red front has the denomination, a fancy embossed seal surmounted by "Good For 2 Marks" and the legendary Berlin Bear.
Crisp uncirculated condition or near to it (may have 1-2 light handling folds in which case it was probably used by someone a century ago!!!
One of the only pieces of early 20th currency in the world to show a 19th century vehicle!
This nifty 2 Mark bill combines railroad history, automotive history, financial history, Berlin history, great nostalgic artwork and bonafide antiquity! Simply irresistable! Retail Value in Uncriculated . Buy Now for .99!
