Our cotton lycra extenders are made from a high quality, medium-weight, and 90% cotton/10% lycra blend. It is the same fabric used by many apparel manufacturers for high performance sportwear and high quality tees and tanks. Lycra adds to stretch recovery, which improves the fit and shape retention of the garment. The small percentage of lycra gives it enough stretch for a good fit without getting stretched out of shape. Lycra makes the fabric softer, smoother-fitting and more durable.

Because of the wide variety of waist and hip body shapes, there was no way to come up with shirt extender sizes that would fit all women, perform well and be good quality.
We turned our research to a group of women who wore pant sizes 0 to 20. We got their measurements and gave them extenders to wear. Their feedback included what they liked and didn’t like about the fabrics, the fit, the design and anything else they wanted us to consider. After some time on the market, we asked customers to participate in additional research and further tweaked our sizing.
Using our size chart, choose your extender size based on where the best fit is most important to you—at the waist or at the hips. The low number in each measurement range is the finished diameter of the shirt extender without stretching. The high number is the diameter when fully stretched.

Choose Your Length
Our shirt extenders are available in 10-inch and 12-inch lengths. The 12-inch length are ideal for leggings and they better accommodate women who are taller than 5 ft 6 inches tall.

Choose Your Fabric
We have tested various fabrics for our shirt extenders. We wanted to offer a cotton option and synthetic fiber option. It is important that the fabrics we use are high quality, comfortable and perform well. Our testing resulted in the two fabrics we currently use.
Our nylon spandex shirt extenders will surprise you because they don’t feel like nylon at all. It is a specially treated fabric that is high quality, medium-weight, and 90% nylon/10% spandex blend. It gives you the feel and and benefits of a cotton fabric without the downsides. Compared to cotton, is will not as easily wrinkle, shrink or fade and is easy to care for.
