Very rare and original, ca1910 Tin Lithograph, Self Framed Advertising Sign for Walter Baker & Co., makers of Chocolate & Cocoa of Dorchester, Massachusetts, featuring the beautiful young woman known as La Belle Chocolatiere (The Chocolate Girl) in outstanding, original condition.
The Sign measures approx. 15 1/4” by 19 1/4” and is self framed with a raised, gold gilt "frame" border. Printed text on the bottom stretcher of the raised frame has text that reads "La Belle Chocolatiere, Walter Baker & Co. Inc". The Sign is marked in the bottom-left corner "1754-Litho. in U.S.A." and in the bottom-center "Reg. in U.S. Patent Office."
This rare, ca1910 Walter Baker Chocolate Advertising Sign is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original ca1910 Sign manufactured and distributed to advertise the products of the Walter Baker Co. in the early 20th century.
This rare and original, Tin Litho Advertising Sign is in excellent+ condition. The colors are bright and vibrant and the Sign displays beautifully. There are a handful of very small surface blemishes to i the image area and some soiling to the “frame” but overall this wonderful Walter Baker chocolate Tin Lithograph Advertising Sign is exceptionally well preserved and displays beautifully. The Sign is 100% original and has had no inpainting. surface restoration or repairs of any kind.
A very rare and original, early 20th century Walter Baker Chocolate Company Chromolithograph Tin Advertising Sign in outstanding, original condition and a fantastic addition to any collection!!!
