    Description

This is a tin pointing hand Point of Purchase sign. The sign is made of tin with a wonderful original patina on the front that must have faced the weather. The sign has a slot in the front to slide a card in to advertise something that was being sold or to indicate what you will find if you go where the finger is pointing. The punching on the hand shows the detail of a bare hand and a shirt cuff with button on the arm
The sign is from the early 1900's and is in very good condition. It has one repair to the pointing finger, which must have been bent back or broken and was soldered back on. It is an old repair.
We found this in a collection outside Philadelphia where it was said to have come from an Ice Cream shop.
The hand is 18 1/2" long x 9 1/2" high. It has a stand on the back so it would fee stand on a counter.
