Historic Antique 1880s - 1910s Era DOCTOR POTTER Eye Dr. Wood Advertising Sign. This Early store front sign likely hung above the entrance to Mr. Potters Business or was possibly attached to the side of his transportation such as a horse drawn wagon or possibly an early car or truck depending on the era. This sign is like a 1 of 1 or 1 of 2 ever made, these early business signs weren't usually replaced unless damaged and certainly were not produced in any number. I did some research and there are several Dr. Potters referenced from this time period from around the country, but I was unable to pin point it to a specific doctor or the area of which Mr Potter was from (if anyone has specific info in this feel free to message). Here is a excellent original example of medical advertising history. The condition of this sign is as seen, some original paint loss and the old board paint is showing thru - NO cracks or breaks. Sign measure 33" x 17" x 3".
