    Description

Very rare and original, ca1910’s C. S. Bell Kitchen Food and Grain Grinder, Embossed, Tin Lithograph Advertising Sign. This original, Tin Litho Advertising Sign measures approx. 15 3/4" by 15" and features an image of “The Little Bell” Food Grinder which was manufactured by the C. S. Bell Company of Hillsboro, Ohio. There is also an image of a woman making tortillas. Beneath the image of the woman is the word “Ayer” (Yesterday) and beneath the image of the bright red Little Bell Grinder is the word “Hoy” (Today).
Text on the Sign is mostly in Spanish and translates to “The Little Bell” / “The Universal Mill” / “Grinds all grains, wet or dry, more easily than any other mill, including cocoa and nixtamal for arepas and tortillas.” The image of the Grinder and the letters of the words “La Campanita” are heavily embossed.
The C. S. Bell Company of Hillsboro, Ohio aggressively marketed its bright red Food Grinder throughout Mexico and Central America and the Sign offered here was likely produced for the Mexican market but also for the Spanish speaking population of the American Southwest.
The Sign is very attractive and the lithography is of the very highest quality. It is marked “Made in U.S.A.” but does not carry a manufacturer’s mark.
This outstanding, early 20th century, Tin Lithographed Advertising Sign is in very good condition and displays nicely. The colors are bright and vibrant and there is minimal surface wear to the image area. There are small corner chips at the upper corners and some associated loss to the surface in those areas. There are corner creases at the lower creases as can be seen in the scans below and is a surface scratch on the letter “T” of the embossed word “Campanita”. Overall this rare, Kitchen Small Appliance Tin Lithograph Advertising Sign is well preserved and displays nicely.
A very rare and original, ca1910’s C. S. Bell Kitchen Food and Grain Grinder, Embossed, Tin Lithograph Advertising Sign and a fantastic addition to any collection!!!

    Important Notes about Shipping Charges:
The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by eBay and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a .00 "packing fee" - the .00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the .00 fee. Please contact us if there are any issues regarding the cost of shipping.
